Easy Meals When You’re Too Tired to Cook

easy meals

Takeout can be expensive, in fact, NY Post reported the average American spends about $70,000 on takeout in their lifetime. The reasons for this are lack of time, being burnt out from work and home life, and admittedly—laziness. So what can you do on these days rather than spending a lot of money on just one meal? From meals to order like Home Chef and Blue Apron with easy to follow along recipes and Crock Pot meals, and more! All of these recipes and subscription boxes are easy to follow and can be thrown together in a pinch.

Cooking Classy’s Slow Cooker Chili

Jaclyn, creator of Cooking Classy, provides a simple and warm chili that you can make ahead of time for dinner since it takes 5 to 6 hours. However, this classic chili will be sure to give you a fulfilling meal during these Autumn months! Jaclyn also provides ways to freeze the chili so you can use this for your meal prepping recipes. You can find and try the recipe here

One Pot Creamy Chicken Pasta

Posted by taste.com.au, this one pot pasta contains chicken, peas, cream, and spinach. This recipe is great if you have leftover chicken or if you buy a rotisserie chicken in advance. This meal is great because you can make it within one pot and it is under thirty minutes to make.

Lil’ Luna’s Biscuit Egg Casserole

Breakfast for dinner is always an option for anyone! Since you would buy store bought biscuit dough for this recipe, the meal only takes thirty minutes to make. If you do not want to use sausage you can use a meat alternative, bacon, or ham. This does not call for a lot of ingredients and the leftovers for the next couple of mornings. You can find the recipe here

Averie Sunshine’s 15-Minute Sheet Pan Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken

Sheet Pan meals are a simple and easy way to throw together a simple lunch or dinner. Usually you do not have a lot of dishes to clean up afterwards either! This is a very flavorful dish consisting of ginger, Asian chili garlic sauce, honey, teriyaki sauce, snap peas, pineapple, chicken and more! This is full of protein, vitamin C, and fiber. You can find this recipe here

Freshly Meals

Similar to Home Chef and other delivery meals to your door services, Freshly offers meals that heat up in your microwave. Unlike Salisbury Steak and mushy vegetables you would eat from your typical microwave meals, they offer a gourmet and takeout-like menu. They offer meals like: steak peppercorn, wintertime chicken pilaf, veggie baked pilaf and more. They accommodate dietary preferences as well ranging from plant based diets to allergies.

Many Options

The options are endless for those who do not want to be stressing about what to make for dinner. There is also nothing wrong with doing simple meals like grilled cheese with a can of soup or scrambled egg sandwiches with frozen home fries. There are so many recipes out there that keep a busy lifestyle in mind. A classic favorite of mine is Rachel Ray’s 30 Minute Meals where she has an entire show, recipes, and cookbooks about easy to follow recipes and all under minutes. It is possible to have a good, healthy, filling meal—even when you do not feel like it.
