We are in the height of winter, so most of us are indoors most of the day. This can lead to dry skin that is yearning for us to move somewhere warm and sunny until it’s over. However, the power of food is amazing. Food is medicine. It’s important to find foods that are rich in vitamin E, antioxidants, and omega-3, and omega-6.
So what foods benefit our skin? Here are 5 foods that benefit our skin and make it healthy!
1. Green Tea
So what’s the tea? No, literally, it’s green tea–and it is good for you and your skin. It can reduce oily skin and acne due to its anti-inflammatory components and the extract can be even applied topically. This is food that can be used from the inside and out. What is better than that?! With the cost of everything, we need to stay frugal as much as we can.
2. Avocados
Good news if you order avocado toast at brunch…it is great for your skin! Not only are avocados a tasty addition to tacos, toast, and so on–it is a great addition to add to your diet. Avocados keep your skin moisturized, create anti wrinkle agents, and can even prevent and treat acne. There are so many benefits that can be obtained by eating an avocado, but also if it is used topically.
3. Walnuts and Almonds
Since the two of these are so similar, we can group them as one. Both of them are high in omega-3s which is great for your skin as mentioned before.
