Corporate Wellness Company and Job

If you’ve come to this blog, you’re probably wondering how you can get a job working in the corporate wellness industry. After all, it’s a great industry to work in! Not only do you get to help others lead happier and healthier lives, but you also get to actively learn about wellness. What more could you ask for in a career?

In this blog, I’ll explain how you can work in corporate wellness, and what the steps to doing so look like. Let’s get into it!

How to Work for a Corporate Wellness Company

Have Passion for Wellness

The first and most important aspect of working in corporate wellness is having genuine passion for wellness, and for wanting to help other people achieve wellness. And this quote-on-quote “wellness” typically goes beyond the bounds of physical health. Generally, people who are the best fit for this field are passionate about helping people get physically AND mentally fit, including helping them manage their time, helping them fit different healthy activities into their day, and so on.

Don’t get me wrong, individuals who are passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals can surely be great fits for roles in corporate wellness. However, it’s beneficial for people working in this field to embody passion for holistic wellbeing, rather than just physical wellbeing.

Find a Company You Like

The second aspect of working in corporate wellness is to find a company that you like. There are a variety of companies that specialize in corporate wellness, and their specific specializations vary greatly. Some companies, like BetterYou, aim to provide people with an app that helps them get more time back in their day to do the things that matter most to them. Meanwhile, other companies specialize in helping people manage their daily caloric intake, monitor their heart rate, lower healthcare costs, meditate and so on.

In corporate wellness, the possibilities are endless. It’s all about finding the right company fit, and this generally happens when you find a company in which you strongly believe in the mission. So do your research on this step. It’s important to take your time and find a company whose values you genuinely care about and believe in.

Apply for Positions

Once you’ve found a company, or a few, that you like, start to apply for positions. To help yourself stand out, explain why you’re interested in working for that specific company, and where your interests lie wellness-wise. This will give the company a good understanding of why you’re applying, and why you want to work in the wellness industry.

Apply for positions that you think sound the most interesting and that align with what you like to do. If you love promoting a product through telling people about it, for example, it may be a good idea to apply for a sales position. Ensure that you’re applying to positions that you find interesting and that you think you’d be a good fit for.

Interview with the Company

Last but not least, if your application is of interest to the corporate wellness company, they’ll contact you about interviewing. If you do get this opportunity, again, make sure to explain what about their company attracted you, and why you’d like to work in the corporate wellness industry, as well as in the job that you initially applied for.

Although interviews can be daunting, the interview process is a time for you to explain yourself, convey your passion for wellness, and sell yourself on why you’d be a good fit for the position and the company as a whole.

Conclusion

So there you have it: how to work in corporate wellness! As companies continue to increasingly recognize the importance of wellness initiatives, more and more corporate wellness companies will continue to evolve. With that being said, I don’t anticipate there being a shortage of jobs in this area any time soon.

If you want to work for a corporate wellness company, chase after that dream, and try hard to achieve it. Do your best, and always hold your passion for wellness at the center of your career!
